The Washington-Wilkes Arts Foundation has scheduled its Annual Fall ArtFest for November 5-7. This is a great event for the whole family as there are artists demonstrating their work, art to purchase, and fun activities for the kids. Mike and I have a number of pieces of art in our home that we purchased at previous ArtFest’s that are very meaningful to us since we had a chance to meet and get to know the artists.
This year’s featured artist is Pear Fryar, a world renowned topiary designer. He is the subject of the documentary movie, “A Man Named Pearl” that will be shown on Friday night and there will be a chance to meet Pearl Fryar after the movie. I went to his website, www.pearlfryar.com, and was absolutely blown away by some of his work. I am so looking forward to meeting him and seeing his work in person.
The schedule for the ArtFest is:
Movie: “A Man Named Pearl”
Meet & Greet artist after movie
Art Exhibits on the Square
Topiary by Pearl
Member Reception (evening)
The exact times of the events have not been finalized, but will be posted to the WWAF website, www.washingtonwilkesarts.org.
Below are some pictures that I took at a prior ArtFest. Hope to see you there!
